Created to carry the message of recovery to all addicts. Whether the addiction is alcohol, drugs, food or any other addiction the program of recovery is the same. I am a recovering alcoholic of over twenty-seven years, a day at a time of course and I believe my primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve recovery. Remember seven days without a meeting makes one weak. Sign up to get emails. This Blog is NOT IN ANY WAY affiliated to either A.A. or N.A. Help to stop drinking.

Step by Step #essentialsofrec
Today, I look to the 12th Step to ask if I am an effective carrier of the message. Before I can pass the message, Step 12 requires that I first have a spiritual awakening and, second, that I practice the principles of all 12 Steps and Traditions in “all our affairs.” If, on honest evaluation, I can truthfully attest to a spiritual awakening and to practicing the principles embodied in the 12 Steps “in my affairs,” I might be an effective carrier of the message to someone who is both struggling to get and stay sober. But if I scoff at the idea of a spiritual awakening or I apply some of the Program’s principles selectively, how can I be an effective 12th-Stepper, how can I carry a message I have not embraced? Because a way of keeping what I have been given in the program is to give it away, I seek wisdom from my Higher Power to be humbled to carry the Program’s message. And our common journey continues. Step by step. – Chris M.
