APATHY

I read of a man who overate until he died. When inter-viewed, friends and family said, “He simply didn’t seem to care.” He had stuffed his feelings for so long he had forgotten what they were. He had lost his spirituality. Apathy can kill.
Apathy feeds ignorance because it stops activity; it stops life. My antidote for apathy is spirituality. Spiritual people are alive with positive attitudes and creative hope, and they are infectious. I am challenged to discover meaning in my own life. Hope supports recovery, and recovery produces a message that must be shared. In that message is the miracle of life.
I pray that in the face of apathy I discover hope.
