FR. LEO'S DAILY MEDITATION #essentialsofrecovery

“I tend to be suspicious of people whose love of animals is exaggerated; they are often frustrated in their relationship with humans.”

~ Yila (Camilla Koffler)

Anything can be used to avoid reality. People may use alcohol, food, drugs, people, sex, and gambling to avoid dealing with feelings.

The key to my addiction is in the obsessive and compulsive behavior patterns that stop me from reaching my full potential. I could not relax with who I was because of my exaggerated and painful lifestyle. I could not truly love myself because of my obsession with the “it” that seemed to be controlling me. At some point, I saw the obsession and began to talk about it.

For me to be a spiritual person, I must free myself from compulsive attitudes.

Dear God, may I meditate on the comfort of freedom.
