Divine metaphysics teaches that Scientific Prayer, or the Practice of the Presence of God, will, sooner or later, bring health, prosperity, and harmony into our lives.
In fact, more often than not, it is with the direct and immediate object of obtaining one of these things that people take up the study at all. It is often said that the vast majority come into Truth because they are "down and out" in one of these respects, and this is probably correct.
There is no objection to coming into Truth in this way. Indeed, it is so inevitable that it should often be so. Our difficulties arise from using our free will in opposition to the Will of god, and we do not abandon that abuse of power until we have realized that there is no good to be found in that direction.
As long as we come to God for any reason, it is well. The only thing that matters is that we do seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and, provided we have done that, we should not waste any time in the analysis of motive. This is merely plowing the sand.
The important thing is that, having come into Truth for whatever reason, you should remind yourself again that the Christ Truth teaches that though we live on a physical plane which is full of poverty, struggle, sin, sickness, and death, these things nevertheless can be destroyed by persistent daily prayer.
Give us this day our daily bread (Mathew 6:11).
