ON THIS DAY JUNE 8th - JUST FOR FUN

1987-New Zealand's Labour government legislates against nuclear weapons and nuclear powered vessels in NZ. Only nation to legislate against nuclear power.

1984- "Ghostbusters", American supernatural comedy film, directed and produced by Ivan Reitman, starring Bill Murrary and Dan Aykroyd is released.

1972 - Associated Press photographer Nick Ut takes his Pulitzer winning shot “The Terror of War” of a naked 9 year old Vietnamese girl Phan Thi Kim PhĂșc running down a road after being burned by American Napalm dropped by South Vietnamese troops.

1989- Albert Spaggiari, the mastermind behind the biggest-ever bank robbery in France died. His gang had robbed a bank in Nice and estimated 30 million = 100 million francs was stolen. They scrawled “Sans Armes, ni Violence, ni Haine” (without weapons, violence or hate) on the walls of the vault.
